6th Seminar with Jean-Louis Cohen

Architecture Drafted: World War II and the History of 20th Century Design

The seminar will focus on the architectural production of the years 1937 (the Nazi bombing of Guernica) to 1945 (the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki), with the goal of reintegrating overlooked episodes into the historical narrative on modern architecture and also of considering how architectural theory is reconfigured by the acknowledgement of these forgotten endeavors.
